The 2018 Bank of Sun Prairie School Food Drive Challenge is complete. The grand total of all 8 elementary schools in food and cash equivalent was 50,065 pounds of food. We collected over 4 tons of food and over $5,000 in cash donations.
Bank of Sun Prairie awarded a $1,000 cash prize to the top school. Each school’s food donation was weighed and cash was converted to pounds to come up with the totals. We then divide that number by the number of students enrolled at each school minus those on free and reduced lunches to come up with the winning school.
This year, the school with the highest donation per student is Horizon!
In addition, all other schools were eligible for a $500 cash prize from the Bank of Sun Prairie. The 3 schools drawn were Westside, Bird and Creekside. Every school received a free ice cream coupons courtesy of Culvers in Sun Prairie.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Bank of Sun Prairie Food Drive School Challenge. Over this 10 year period, the drive has resulted in 705,000 pounds of donated food! This extraordinary effort can only be accomplished by generous parents, willing students, and supportive staff! Thanks to all, many will benefit from your kindness.
